Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes is all set to pen down a new bumper deal to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have reached an agreement with Portuguese superstar Bruno Fernandes over a new deal. He is all set to extend his stay until the summer of 2027 with an option of another 12 months. The Red Devils are all set to make him one of the top earners at the club.
Fernandes came into the limelight with his consistent performances for Sporting CP. It resulted in interest from Manchester United, who signed the Portuguese international in the winter of 2020. While the Red Devils have not enjoyed much success in recent years, the 29-year-old has surely been one of their best players.
He has featured in a total of 234 games for Manchester United and has contributed towards 146 goals (79 goals, 67 assists). While he still has two years left on his deal, Fernandes’s future was not really certain. He was linked with a move away from the club amidst interest from clubs in Europe as well as the Middle East.
While multiple clubs were keen on signing the Portuguese attacking midfielder, Manchester United have no intentions of letting him leave. To secure his long-term future, they initiated talks over a new deal and have managed to convince him to put pen to paper.
Fernandes to pen down a new deal next week

Romano believes the new deal could be signed next week, if everything goes according to plan. He is certain that if not next week, it will be official before the end of the month.
