Wolves ponder using Dan Bentley in exchange deal to sign Aaron Ramsdale

Wolves could use Dan Bentley in a potential deal to sign Aaron Ramsdale, although the 31-year-old’s inclusion is unlikely to affect the transaction.

According to Football Insider, Wolves could use Dan Bentley in a deal to sign Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal. The north Londoners are keen on the 31-year-old former academy keeper of theirs, with Ramsdale certainly not looking forward to a season sitting on the bench and playing deputy to David Raya.

Wolves ponder Aaron Ramsdale formula

Wolves are in a period of transition and could consider several squad changes before the window shuts. They have already lost two key players, Max Kilman and Pedro Neto, and there could be further departures before the end of August.

Wolves are also ready to consider offers for first-choice keeper Jose Sa, who has been their established stopper since joining in 2019. They want to replace him with Aaron Ramsdale, although Arsenal’s asking price is surely not going to please those in charge of the Midlands club.

The Gunners will undoubtedly want over £30 million to sell the 26-year-old disgruntled Arsenal man, who is not planning to sit on the bench for another season. Wolves are thinking about adding Dan Bentley into a deal to sign Ramsdale, with the north Londoners indeed keen to add the 31-year-old.

Arsenal were planning on making a fresh £300,000 offer for their former academy star Bentley, something Wolves might strongly consider. However, there are doubts whether their plan to add the 31-year-old as part of any deal to bring Ramsdale will work.

Arsenal will stand firm on Ramsdale’s valuation

Considering how much Arsenal wants for Ramsdale, the addition of Bentley as part of a deal from Wolves will barely make a dent in that valuation. The Gunners had initially offered £50,000 for their former academy star, and if they increase their bid to £300,000, that might be their final offer.

Arsenal are also considering sending Ramsdale on loan, as there’s a shortage of top clubs showing an interest in the 26-year-old disgruntled stopper. Nottingham Forest are also keen, meaning the keeper might opt for a temporary move to play regularly and then return with his value intact next summer, which might work for all parties concerned.
