Nicolas Jackson unsettled by Chelsea transfer talks with other strikers

Nicolas Jackson is reportedly unsettled at Chelsea amid the West London club’s transfer talks with other strikers this summer.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on HITC, Nicolas Jackson is not entirely happy at Chelsea. The Blues are scouring the market for a striker heading into the final days of the summer transfer window. Those transfer talks have left the Senegalese international unsettled at Stamford Bridge.

How has Nicolas Jackson fared at Chelsea?

Nicolas Jackson joined Chelsea last summer from Villarreal after an excellent second half of the 2022/23 season. A native of Djibonker, the versatile African attacker spent his formative years in Senegal and graduated from the youth division at Casa Sports. However, his first foray into Europe came with Villarreal.

The Yellow Submarine initially assigned him to the under-19 team before he broke into the first-team squad at Estadio de la Ceramica. Jackson gradually grew in stature at Villarreal before Chelsea came calling last summer. However, the 23-year-old blew hot and cold throughout the 2023/24 season.

While the Senegalese had some positive moments and contributed during the build-up play, his finishing was dreadful. However, Nicolas Jackson’s output improved in the second half of the 2023/24 season, and he ended the campaign with 17 goals and six assists in 44 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea.

However, Nicolas Jackson is not a happy camper at Chelsea despite a superb end to the 2023/24 campaign. The former Villarreal attacker is unsettled at the West London club due to the transfer talks surrounding strikers. Recent reports have linked Chelsea with Samu Omorodion, who will soon arrive at Stamford Bridge from Atletico Madrid.

What next for Jackson?

The Senegalese international is unhappy with the situation as he realises that he might lose his spot as the first-choice striker for Chelsea in the 2023/24 season. So, it might not be surprising to see Jackson leaving the West London outfit before the summer transfer window shuts down.

The report adds that the 23-year-old is one of the Chelsea players most perturbed by Mauricio Pochettino’s departure from Stamford Bridge after the 2023/24 season ended. So, with the player unhappy with his situation, it might not be surprising to see him leaving Chelsea before the summer transfer window shuts down.
