Aston Villa and Fulham have tabled an offer for the services of Arsenal and Tottenham attacking target Semih Kilicsoy.
According to Sabah via SportWitness, Aston Villa and Fulham are both keen on signing Besiktas attacking sensation Semih Kilicsoy. Both clubs seek attacking reinforcement and they recently knocked on the doors of the Turkish club with offers to prise him away.
Kilicsoy has been a part of Besiktas’ youth setup since 2016. He came up the ranks at some pace and was promoted to the first team last summer. In his debut campaign at the senior level, he was involved in 35 matches and he finished with 15 goal contributions.
He made a total of 20 starts in the Super Lig and scored 12 goals. His impressive performances for the Turkish club and his ability to feature on either flank, as well as number nine, helped him be a part of the Turkiye team at Euro 2024.
Semih Kilicsoy is on the radar of Premier League clubs
Kilicsoy’s exceptional rise hasn’t gone unnoticed and multiple top clubs from England are pushing for his services. North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are both interested in the teenager’s services. Both clubs seek more firepower in the final third.
The Turkish sensation’s arrival will give Mikel Arteta more options on the left as well as down the middle. As far as Ange Postecoglou is concerned, he wants more depth on the flanks and Kilicsoy could be a great investment for the long run.
While both English giants have been linked with him, neither have made an offer. Meanwhile, Aston Villa and Fulham who also have a significant interest in the teenager have submitted offers to lure him away from Besiktas.
Fulham and Aston Villa submit offers for Kilicsoy
Following the approval from scout Brian Talbot, Fulham were the first to move. They submitted an offer worth €15 million plus add-ons. While Marco Silva has made some interesting additions to his team this summer, he still seeks a top-quality forward and Kilicsoy could be a perfect fit for him. But, their bid has been turned down.
Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are also keen on signing the teenager. Emery has been quite busy throughout the window. While they have signed quite a few players, Kilicsoy is also on their wishlist amidst Jhon Duran’s uncertain future.
They submitted a higher bid worth €18 million for the Turkish international. But, even that has been rejected by Besiktas. They are unlikely to let him leave on the cheap with four years left on his deal and it will be interesting to see if either of the clubs returns with an improved offer.
