Paris Saint-Germain remain keen on signing Manchester United ace Jadon Sancho, with Juventus now out of the race.
According to Dharmesh Sheth, Paris Saint-Germain remain interested in the services of Jadon Sancho as they look to reinforce their attack following the departure of Kylian Mbappe. The French giants have already held initial talks with Manchester United for his signature.
While Juventus were also keen on his signature, according to a report from Calciomercato, the Old Lady have taken a back seat in their pursuit. They have decided to abandon the race and are focusing on other attacking targets.
Sancho joined United in the summer of 2021 in a big-money move from Borussia Dortmund. He hasn’t got going since moving to England and last season, things got out of hand as a rift with manager Erik ten Hag resulted in him being exiled from the first team.
After spending the first half of the season in exile, he was sent back to Dortmund on a short loan. The 24-year-old did revive himself with a return to Germany as he helped the yellow and black reach the finals of the Champions League.
He seems to have resolved his issues with the Dutch manager following his return to the club for the pre-season. While he has been impressive during the pre-season, his long-term future is not yet certain and PSG remain keen on signing the English international.
Juventus abandon Sancho pursuit, PSG remain keen
Juventus have been linked with Sancho for some time now as they look to reinforce their attack before the start of a new era under Thiago Motta. They were looking to make the most out of Sancho’s situation at United but with the issues resolved, they are unlikely to fork out a fortune to sign him.
The Old Lady have decided to abandon his pursuit and are now focusing on other targets with Nico Gonzalez being their top priority. While a move to Italy is now unlikely, Sancho could be on his way to France with PSG still in the picture.
The French giants want to add more firepower to their attack and they feel Sancho could be an ideal signing for the long run. They have already held initial talks with the Red Devils to learn about the conditions of a potential transfer.
Sheth believes Sancho could be open to a move to Paris and personal terms are not expected to be a problem. Since both clubs were already in talks about Manuel Ugarte, the dialogue for the United winger’s transfer is also underway.
