Fulham have reportedly cooled their interest in Manchester United star Scott McTominay.

Fulham initially made a bid for McTominay last week, having earlier inquired about his availability during the summer. The proposed deal, valued at approximately £20 million, was promptly rejected by Manchester United. Despite ongoing negotiations, United held firm, seeking closer to £30 million for the Scotland international.
Marco Silva’s Admiration and Fulham’s Decision
Marco Silva, Fulham’s head coach, is a known admirer of McTominay and had urged the club to pursue the midfielder. However, despite Silva’s interest, Fulham have decided to abandon their pursuit and look for alternatives.
Manchester United’s initial stance was to retain McTominay. But financial pressures meant they were open to selling him to raise funds. Erik ten Hag, United’s manager, ideally wanted to keep McTominay at Old Trafford but understood the club’s need to generate cash from player sales.

Fulham’s decision to walk away from McTominay makes sense given the financial constraints and the player’s apparent commitment to Manchester United. While McTominay would have been a strong addition to Fulham’s midfield, the club’s willingness to explore other targets shows their flexibility in recruitment.
