Tammy Abraham is uninterested in a move to West Ham, as he prefers to stay in Italy and would love to join AC Milan instead.
According to Calcio Mercato, Tammy Abraham would prefer to join AC Milan and stay in Italy as his AS Roma days draw to a close. The 26-year-old Serie A attacker is also interested in a few English sides, including West Ham, although a move back to the Premier League looks unlikely at this stage.
Tammy Abraham wants AC Milan move
Tammy Abraham’s time at AS Roma could come to a close following the many changes manager Daniele De Rossi has made to his attacking setup. The arrival of Matias Soule and striker Artem Dobvyk has rendered the former Chelsea star redundant, as there are internal doubts after a dismal season after a severe knee injury.
The 26-year-old Serie A attacker is not short of suitors, as he also reportedly rejected an approach from Everton earlier in the window. Other Premier League sides are looking at him or did before, although the striker prefers to stay in Italy and join AC Milan if they can agree a deal with Roma.
Milan have already signed Alvaro Morate as Olivier Giroud’s replacement but are on the lookout for another striker. The report also states they can offer one of Noah Okafor or Luka Jovic in part exchange for Abraham. Roma earlier demanded €30 million for the Englishman. However, they have further reduced their asking rate.
Abraham’s salary could also prove a problem in his quest to join Milan. The striker is one of the highest earners at Roma, which is also why the club is keen to offload him. Milan is also formulating a loan offer with a buy option for the 26-year-old Serie A attacker, who also has West Ham’s interest.
No West Ham move for Abraham
West Ham would have offered a big opportunity for the 26-year-old Serie A attacker to return to England, specifically London. The striker has no interest in the move, considering how much he wants the Milan switch. The Hammers have since signed Niclas Fullkrug and are unlikely to spend big on another striker.
The Hammers could still strengthen their squad in the remaining time in the transfer window, although they appear sorted in the centre-forward position unless there are some surprise departures from here on. Hence, while Abraham might have been a good signing for them, the player’s preference might have made the club act quickly and move towards other available targets such as Fullkrug.
