West Ham United are closing in on the signature of Leeds United attacking sensation Crysencio Summerville ahead of the 2024/25 season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville is all set to join West Ham United as both clubs have reached a full agreement in place. The Hammers have agreed to pay in excess of £25 million as a whole to bring the Dutch attacker to the club.
Summerville made a name for himself coming up the ranks at Feyenoord. Even before he was promoted to the first team, Leeds managed to secure his services in the summer of 2020. After a year with their Under-21s, he was promoted to the first team and has not looked back since.
Last season, the 22-year-old winger was on fire in the EFL Championship. He was a standout performer for Leeds and ended the season with 21 goals and 10 assists across competitions. While Summerville did give it his all, it was not enough to get them back to the Premier League.
Summerville to join West Ham United
With Leeds United failing to make a return to the top flight, multiple clubs have been trying to prise Summerville away from Elland Road. West Ham United have been working on a potential deal to sign the former Dutch youth international for months.
The Hammers have already done an impressive job in the window by adding Luis Guilherme and Max Kilman to Julen Lopetegui’s squad. But, they want more firepower on the flanks and Summerville is quite high on their wishlist as he can feature on both flanks as well as in other attacking positions.
Recent reports have suggested that the Hammers are cooling their interest in the former Feyenoord sensation. But, according to Italian transfer expert Romano, West Ham have won the race for the services of the Leeds United attacker. Both clubs have agreed to a package worth more than £25 million including add-ons.
The player had already agreed to pen a long-term deal, and he had even spoken to Lopetegui ahead of the move. With Leeds accepting the proposal from the Hammers, Summerville is now all set to sign for his new club.
