Scott McTominay approves Galatasaray move

European regulars and Turkish champions Galatasaray have reportedly secured an agreement with 27-year-old Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.

According to an update by Turkish journalist Haluk Yurkeli, Scott McTominay is the subject of interest from Galatasaray. The European regulars are keen on bolstering their midfielder unit in the summer transfer window. The Turkish champions have secured an agreement with the 27-year-old Manchester United homegrown player, although convincing the Red Devils might be a tall order.

The Scott McTominay story

Scott McTominay has gone from strength to strength since breaking into the first-team squad at Manchester United. The Scotsman has never been convincing enough to be the undisputed first-choice midfielder for the Premier League heavyweights. However, he has chipped in with crucial goals throughout his Manchester United stint.

The 27-year-old has turned out over 250 times thus far for Manchester United while chipping in with 29 goals and eight assists. However, McTominay faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford after entering the final 12 months of his contract with the Premier League club.

The Scottish international does not have a shortage of suitors pursuing Scott McTominay’s signature in the summer transfer window. Recent reports have linked the Manchester United homegrown player with a few Premier League clubs. However, the player’s next destination might be Galatasaray.

Turkish move on the horizon?

Galatasaray’s interest in Scott McTominay is understandable. With Kerem Demirbay and Sergio Oliveira on the wrong side of 30, the Turkish champions need a new midfielder, with the Scottish midfielder emerging as a viable target. Recent reports have pointed to an impending offer from Galatasaray to sign the Manchester United academy graduate.

While the European regulars wait to convince Manchester United to sell the 27-year-old for a reasonable price, they have already secured an agreement with the player regarding a move in the summer transfer window. However, Haluk Yurkeli has revealed a similar scenario with Wendel before Galatasaray failed to find common ground with Zenit St. Petersburg.

So, while McTominay has given the green light to join Galatasaray in the summer transfer window, a move will not see the light of day unless the Turkish champions secure an agreement with Manchester United.
