Manchester United are stepping up their efforts in the youth transfer arena as they are now close to sealing a move for Samuel Lusale.
According to Manchester United Youth on X, Manchester United have found an agreement to sign Crystal Palace prodigy Samuel Lusale. The teenager has refused a scholarship deal with the Eagles as he likes the pathway set by the Red Devils ahead of joining them in this window.
Manchester United seal Samuel Lusale’s move
Manchester United have tweaked their transfer and player development strategy since INEOS arrived at the club. For years, they have resorted to buying ready-made talents, often in their late years, to help with their squad situation and in a bid to keep them competitive in the Premier League arena.
Some have succeeded while others have failed, with the extensive expenses on Raphael Varane and Casemiro as prime examples for the latter. INEOS are now targeting young prospects on the brink of breaking into the first team and hope they can develop these talents either into future stars or sell them on for profit later on.
Manchester United have one of the best youth development programs of all Premier League sides, and their ability to attract a host of youngsters is proof. They are closing in on Arsenal’s Chido Obi-Martin, and now they have agreed to bring 16-year-old Crystal Palace wonderkid Samuel Lusale.
The teenage winger has rejected the chance to sign scholarship terms with Crystal Palace and instead chose to represent Manchester United. The prospect of breaking into the Red Devils’ first team in a few years is exciting for the youngster, and the project might have appealed to him and his representatives. In Lusale, the club are getting one of the most talented attacking prospects in the country.
Manchester United push through youth signings
While reports state they might promote Chido Obi-Martin very close to the first team, Manchester United have set out pathways for many other promising youngsters yet to arrive at the club. They have agreed to signed James Overy, while there are links to Ipswich Town’s Silva Mexes.
Manchester United have also signed Camron Mpofu from Reading. The Red Devils hope to develop these players into future stars or at least look to make a good profit from their sales in the coming years.
