Galatasaray submit €15 million offer for Scott McTominay

Galatasaray have made a €15 million bid to sign Scott McTominay, with Manchester United demanding double that to sell the Scotsman.

According to Haber Sari Kirmizi, Manchester United might have rejected a €15 million bid from Galatasaray for Scott McTominay. The Red Devils are willing to sell the Scotsman for double that figure, as the midfielder could wait on to explore interested clubs from within the Premier League before deciding his future.

Galatasaray in Scott McTominay bid

The Premier League, being the very best football league in the world, gives little reason for players to leave and play elsewhere, let alone Turkey. The disparity between both top flights has been the same for many decades now, with the Turkish side mostly getting scraps of old players ready to tone down their game to further their careers.

In Scott McTominay’s case, he still has plenty more years ahead of him, and being a Premier League-level player, he will expect many offers to come for his services. Manchester United are reportedly open to a sale, as they have eyes on the total profit they can make by offloading the midfielder for the right price.

Galatasaray have reportedly lodged a €15 million bid to test Manchester United’s resolve, although that offer might have been turned down without hesitation. The Red Devils are seeking double that figure as they will likely accept a €30 million proposal for the midfielder.

Galatasaray does not have that level of funds for a single player, although they are willing to increase their offer up to €20 million if it suits Manchester United. The Turkish champions firmly believe that if McTominay receives no offers between now and the end of the window, they might be able to sign him for €20 million, given that the Turkish window lasts longer than the English one.

Manchester United expecting Premier League offers

Manchester United will be expecting some offers to come in from clubs for the €30 million-rated midfielder. Fulham are expected to return with an improved bid after their initial approach was turned down, as a switch to the London side might be one of the options for the midfielder.

West Ham have held an interest since last season and could revive their chase of the €30 million-rated star. Manchester United are hoping to get the best value for their homegrown star, although the market will likely see the midfielder leave for less than the €30 million range the report suggests. As for Galatasaray, they may not stand a realistic chance of signing the midfielder, as he would not prefer a move to Turkey now.
