Manchester United are closing in on Bayern Munich full-back Noussair Mazraoui, who has agreed on a five-year deal, while a crucial week lies ahead for the move to go through.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have taken another major step towards signing Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich. They have agreed on personal terms with the player, who is all set to sign a five-year deal at Old Trafford.
Mazraoui joined the Bundesliga giants in the summer of 2022 after coming up the ranks and making a name for himself at Ajax. Over the last two seasons, he has only managed to feature in 55 matches because of injuries and has contributed towards nine goals.
While his performances on the pitch have been quite good, Bayern Munich do not count on him for the long run and are ready to cash in on him. West Ham United were within touching distance of signing him. But the move collapsed giving Manchester United an opportunity to pounce on, and they now seem to be in full control of the transfer.
Manchester United close to signing Noussair Mazraoui
The Red Devils want an upgrade on the right flank. They are keen on bringing in someone who can compete with Diogo Dalot for a place in the starting XI, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka no longer a part of their plans moving ahead. They have been working on a deal to sell the English full-back and consider Mazraoui an ideal replacement.
Manchester United had already agreed terms with Bayern Munich for the transfer of the Moroccan international and now they have agreed terms with the player. Mazraoui has agreed to sign a five-year deal at Old Trafford with an option to extend it for another 12 months similar to deals that Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro have signed.
Manchester United face ‘crucial week’ ahead
Despite having agreed terms with both the player and the club, the deal is not yet complete as it depends on the future of Wan-Bissaka. According to a report from GIVEMESPORT, the ongoing week will be very crucial for these transfers to go through.
Wan-Bissaka is closing in on a move to West Ham United. The Hammers already have an agreement in place with Manchester United. But they are now working on personal terms. Once the Red Devils manage to get him off their books and raise around £15 million from his sale, they will look to complete the Mazraoui deal which will cost around £20 million. The Moroccan winger is waiting for United and he hopes they will have everything in place before the end of the week.
