The 2023/24 Eredivisie winners are keen on bolstering their backline in the summer transfer window and submitted a bid worth €10 million to sign the Liverpool defender. However, the Merseyside outfit immediately rejected the offer for the 22-year-old wantaway centre-back.

Sepp van den Berg has been an unhappy camper since joining Liverpool from PEC Zwolle in July 2019. A native of Zwolle, the Dutchman spent most of his formative years in his hometown by joining the Merseyside outfit as a highly-rated 17-year-old defensive prospect half a decade ago.
The 22-year-old has struggled to stamp his authority at the Merseyside club in the last half a decade, managing only 271 minutes of game time across four appearances. The young centre-back prospect has embarked on three loan spells away from Liverpool, spending the two most recent campaigns in Germany.
The Dutch defender has recently insisted that he wants to leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window, lamenting his treatment at the club. Meanwhile, van den Berg does not have a shortage of suitors pursuing his signature in the summer transfer window, with Bundesliga clubs looking to bring him back to Germany. However, the first bid has come from PSV Eindhoven.
