European regulars Besiktas are reportedly interested in signing 24-year-old Manchester United winger Antony, who wants to stay at Old Trafford beyond the summer.
According to an update by Turkish journalist Ertan Suzgun, as relayed by BJK Habers, Antony is the subject of interest from Besiktas. The Turkish giants are scouring the market for a wide attacker heading into the final month of the summer transfer window. However, the 24-year-old Manchester United winger does not want to depart from Old Trafford.
Antony and his Manchester United woes
Antony has been a dud since joining Manchester United from Ajax in a big-money move in August 2022. The Premier League heavyweights broke the bank to sign the winger, as Erik ten Hag was keen on reuniting with him at Old Trafford.
However, the 24-year-old has failed to live up to the billing at Old Trafford after a solid start to life as a Manchester United player. Antony’s output has been dreadful in his two seasons with Manchester United, as he has managed only 11 goals and five assists in 82 appearances thus far.
So, it is hardly surprising that the Brazilian international faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford heading into the final month of the summer transfer window. Recent reports have claimed that Manchester United are ready to part ways with the former Ajax wide player.
However, Antony’s prospects do not appear bright, with hardly any well-known club ready to invest in him in the summer transfer window. However, while Besiktas might be ready to approach Manchester United for a summer move, Antony does not want to depart from Old Trafford this summer.
