West Ham United focusing on Aaron Wan-Bissaka

West Ham United will focus on 26-year-old Manchester United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka after cooling their interest in Noussair Mazraoui.

According to reputed German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has become the top target for West Ham United after they decided not to pursue a move for Noussair Mazraoui. The Hammers are planning a new round of talks within the next 48 hours to sign Manchester United wide player, with the Red Devils reducing their price tag to £10-15 million to sell the 26-year-old.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and his Manchester United career so far

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has endured a hit-and-miss spell since joining Manchester United from Crystal Palace in a deal worth around £50 million in July 2019. While the Englishman has been one of the best full-backs in the Premier League in the defensive phases, his output in the final third has been shoddy.

The 26-year-old has turned out nearly 200 times thus far for the Red Devils while chipping in with two goals and 13 assists. However, Wan-Bissaka faces an uncertain future at Manchester United in the summer transfer window after entering the final 12 months of his contract at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, the former Crystal Palace full-back does not have a shortage of suitors pursuing his signature in the summer transfer window, with the player preferring a move to Serie A. However, a switch across the Premier League might be on the cards, with West Ham United pushing hard for Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s signature.

London return on the horizon?

West Ham United’s interest in Aaron Wan-Bissaka is understandable. The Hammers have been scouring the market for a right-back heading into the summer transfer window after losing Ben Johnson as a free agent. So, several candidates, including Noussair Mazraoui, have emerged on West Ham United’s radar.

However, the move for Mazraoui has collapsed, with the Moroccan international keen on joining Manchester United. So, West Ham will focus on signing Wan-Bissaka, with the Red Devils reducing their asking price for the 26-year-old to £10-15 million.

West Ham will hold a new round of talks with Manchester United within the next 48 hours. It will be interesting to see how the latest discussions progress, with Manchester United open to selling the Englishman for around £10-15 million this summer.
