Crystal Palace in transfer tussle to sign Bazoumana Toure

Crystal Palace will reportedly compete with Bundesliga clubs Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt for 18-year-old African sensation Bazoumana Toure this summer.

According to a report by Swedish outlet Expressen, Bazoumana Toure is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. The African attacking sensation is also a target for Bundesliga clubs like Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt, making it a three-way battle to sign the teenage prospect from Swedish outfit Hammarby in the summer transfer window.

Who is Bazoumana Toure?

Bazoumana Toure is the latest highly-rated African prospect to rise in prominence. The continent is producing promising prodigies by truckload, with the last few years witnessing the advent of Ousmane Diomande, Lamine Camara, and Bilal El Khannouss, among many others.

As for Toure, he spent most of his formative years thus far in his homeland before joining Hammarby earlier this year. The 18-year-old has turned out nine times thus far for the Swedish outfit while chipping in with three goals and two assists.

Meanwhile, Bazoumana Toure’s progress at Hammarby has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. The update by Expressen has suggested that Crystal Palace will compete in a three-way battle with Bundesliga clubs Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt to sign the Ivory Coast youth international in the summer transfer window.

London calling?

Crystal Palace’s interest in Bazoumana Toure is hardly surprising. The Eagles have focused on investing in highly-rated prospects early in their career before selling them for big profits. The outlook recently paid dividends when Michael Olise joined Bayern Munich. In addition, Crystal Palace can make a handsome profit on Eberechi Eze, although they want to keep him at Selhurst Park.

Meanwhile, the last 12 months have seen Crystal Palace sign Matheus Franca and Adam Wharton, with both players highly rated by European bigwigs. Toure has now emerged as a viable target for the South London club, with his output in the final third making him an attractive target.

The 18-year-old African attacking sensation has the quality to directly slot into the first-team squad at Selhurst Park. However, it will be interesting to see if Crystal Palace can beat Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt to Bazoumana Toure’s signature.
