West Ham United agree deal to sign Noussair Mazraoui

West Ham United have agreed on a deal with Bayern Munich for the services of Noussair Mazraoui, Manchester United still have an outside chance.

According to Florian Plettenberg, West Ham United and Bayern Munich have agreed terms for the transfer to Noussair Mazraoui. The player already has a verbal agreement in place with the Hammers which suggests he is very close to joining the London club. However, Manchester United retain their interest in the Moroccan defender and could pounce on any opportunity.

Mazraoui came up the ranks at Ajax, he made quite a name for himself while playing for their first team before joining the German giants in the summer of 2022. Over the last two seasons, the right-back has only been involved in 55 matches for Bayern as he has been out injured on quite a few occasions.

While he still has two years left on his deal with the German club and is capable enough to feature anywhere across the backline, the 26-year-old is surplus to requirement and they have been looking to cash in on him.

West Ham closing in on United target Mazraoui

There is interest in the versatile full-back’s services from the Premier League where West Ham United and Manchester United are keen on his signature. The Hammers have overtaken the Red Devils in the race and they are very close to completing his signing.

They have agreed terms over a transfer and already have a green light from the player regarding a move to London. But, it is not yet a done deal as important financial details are yet to be clarified. Things are going ahead at an incredible pace and all parties involved are working hard to get it done.

Plettenberg has suggested that the final transfer fee will be €15.5 million along with another €4 million as add-ons while Dharmesh Sheth has reported that the Hammers will pay an initial €16 million along with €3.5 million as performance-related add-ons. He has suggested that if West Ham completes the signing in the coming days, Mazraoui could even be a part of their pre-season tour to the US.

With final details still remaining, Plettenberg feels Manchester United are still in the race. With Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s future uncertain, the Red Devils look at the former Ajax full-back as an ideal replacement. But, at this stage, they are well behind the Hammers.
