Tottenham Hotspur closing in on Federico Chiesa

Tottenham could be the team that makes the move for Federico Chiesa this summer, as he’s ready to leave Italy.

According to Calcio Napoli, Tottenham are in the front seat for Federico Chiesa. The Juventus winger is likely to depart Italy for a new adventure in the Premier League. Some other clubs are chasing the Bianconeri attacker, although Spurs are reportedly closing in on the move as things stand.

Tottenham front runners for Federico Chiesa

Federico Chiesa looks increasingly likely to leave Juventus this summer, with the winger already into the final year of his deal. There’s some interest from Napoli, as well as Roma, but the 26-year-old wants a new challenge away from Italy, with the Premier League looking like his likely destination.

For a player of his quality, there’s sufficient interest in the long-existing market. Chelsea are one of those keen, as they angle a move for a wide attacker. Considering Chiesa’s overall quality and what he brings to the table, it’s a deal they might ponder, although Tottenham are deemed to be leading the chase as things stand.

The report states Spurs are willing to offer around €30-35 million for the winger, as Tottenham were indeed thinking about a bid. Ange Postecoglou wants an experienced attacker to nourish his frontline and could view Chiesa as the ideal candidate.

Another report weeks ago indicated that Tottenham are prepared to offer him €6 million per season on a long-term deal. As things stand, and going by the wordings of the report, Spurs are the current favourites to land Chiesa in this window and make a statement of sorts ahead of the new season.

Spurs to face late competition for Chiesa?

Any transfer is only done once the player has signed on the dotted line, and in Chiesa’s case, he’s far off from that, especially when it comes to Tottenham. The north Londoners face competition from neighbours Arsenal, who are keen on the winger

Chelsea’s name has been mentioned before, while other sides, particularly from Italy, might be keeping close tabs on his situation. For the price mentioned for the €30-35 million-rated winger, Tottenham may have a chance to sign him, provided they make their move swiftly when others are rather mulling over the deal.
