Ismaila Sarr is reportedly on the verge of joining Crystal Palace, with the South London club securing an agreement to sign the 26-year-old winger from Ligue 1 club Marseille.
According to a report by French outlet L’Equipe, Ismaila Sarr is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. The Eagles have been scouring the market for a wide attacker in the summer transfer window. And they are on the verge of signing the Marseille winger after securing an agreement in principle with the Ligue 1 club for a deal worth €14 million plus add-ons.
How has Ismaila Sarr fared at Marseille?
Ismaila Sarr has blown hot and cold since joining Marseille from Watford last summer. The move signalled the start of his second adventure in Ligue 1 after making his mark during his spell with Stade Rennais. However, the African winger has not stamped his authority thus far at Stade Velodrome.
The 26-year-old has turned out 35 times thus far for Marseille while chipping in with five goals and six assists. However, despite his inconsistent performances, Sarr’s stock in the market remains high, with several well-known clubs across Europe, particularly from the Premier League, setting their sights on him.
Several well-known Premier League outfits have considered signing him in the summer transfer window. However, no other club has pushed harder than Crystal Palace for the signature of the Senegalese international, with the Eagles making considerable progress in the last few days.
