Yang Min-hyuk closing in on joining Tottenham

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the signature of South Korean attacking sensation Yang Min-hyuk.

South Korean youth international Yang Min-hyuk has had an impressive rise at Gangwon FC, and it has resulted in interest from clubs in Europe. Tottenham are one of the clubs who are keen on signing the teenage sensation, and according to a report from The Times, the North London club are all set to complete his signing in the coming days.

Yang Min-hyuk’s rise at Gangwon FC

Yang Min-hyuk joined Gangwon FC at the start of 2022. He has been sensational for their youth team, and his performances helped him earn a promotion to the first team at the start of the year. Not only is he the first high school professional player in K League 1 history, but the 18-year-old was also the youngest to play for Gangwon’s first team.

He has made an exceptional start to his senior career. In his debut campaign for their first team, the right-winger has featured in 24 matches and has contributed towards ten goals. In less than 2,000 minutes of first-team football, the teenager has found the back of the net on seven occasions.

While the South Korean club are willing to try everything in their power to keep hold of their star winger, he seems all set for a move to Europe. Multiple top clubs have been monitoring him, but it seems Tottenham are all set to win the race for his services.

Tottenham closing in on Yang Min-hyuk

Ange Postecoglou seeks more depth on the flanks, and Yang Min-hyuk could be a great signing for them. However, there are chances of him staying at the South Korean club until the end of the year.

If he does make the move in the summer, Yang could be involved with the first team from the start and given his abilities to feature on both flanks, he could be an ideal cover for their wide players.

South Korean superstar Son Heung-min has been a cornerstone of Tottenham’s team in recent years. Given what he has done for the North London club, fans will expect a lot from Yang as he is considered to be one of the biggest prospects in Asia.

Tottenham have already added two quality young players to their squad in Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray. They now look all set to sign the South Korean winger from Gangwon. Everything seems to be in place for the transfer to be official soon.
