Manchester United are reportedly mulling over signing 21-year-old Ivory Coast international Guela Doue from Ligue 1 club Stade Rennais in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on HITC, Guela Doue is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are scouring the market for a right-back in the summer transfer window. They are thus contemplating a move to sign the 21-year-old from Ligue 1 club Stade Rennais.
Who is Guela Doue?
Guela Doue has made considerable progress in over a decade at Stade Rennais. A native of Angers, he spent his formative years with Stade Rennais after joining the Ligue 1 club’s youth division in 2011 before rapidly progressing through the ranks.
The 21-year-old made his first-team bow for Stade Rennais a few years ago and has turned out 35 times thus far for the Ligue 1 outfit while chipping in with four assists. Doue has picked the Ivory Coast as his national side despite being a native of France. He broke into the senior Ivory Coast side earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Guela Doue’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. The latest update has suggested that the French-born Ivory Coast international full-back is a target for Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
Premier League move on the horizon?
Manchester United’s interest in Guela Doue is understandable. The Red Devils have been scouring the market for a right-back heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term future of Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Manchester United might cash in on Wan-Bissaka, thus necessitating the arrival of a new right-back.

However, the report does not mention if the Premier League heavyweights have identified the 21-year-old Stade Rennais full-back as a top target for the summer transfer window.
