Manchester United hope to sign Noussair Mazraoui in a deal worth £18 million this summer, with the Bayern Munich full-back also a target for West Ham United.
According to a report by Daily Mirror, Noussair Mazraoui is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are keen on signing the versatile Bayern Munich full-back in a deal worth around £18 million. Meanwhile, the Bundesliga heavyweights value the Moroccan international at £25 million.
However, the Red Devils need to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka before securing Mazraoui’s services in the summer transfer window. In addition, the Bayern Munich full-back is a target for West Ham United, with reputed German journalist Florian Plettenberg claiming the Hammers have held new talks to sign him from the Bundesliga club.
How has Noussair Mazraoui fared at Bayern Munich?
Noussair Mazraoui has struggled for stability since joining Bayern Munich from Ajax in a Bosman move in July 2022. The Moroccan international was one of the most highly sought-after full-backs in the world when he joined the Bavarian giants two years ago.
While Mazraoui has made his mark whenever he has taken the pitch, he has failed to establish himself as the undisputed first-choice right-back for Bayern Munich. In addition, fitness issues have plagued the 26-year-old, who has turned out 55 times thus far for Bayern while chipping in with one goal and eight assists. However, the player’s stock in the market remains high, with Manchester United and West Ham United vying for his signature.
Premier League adventure beckons?
Manchester United’s interest in Noussair Mazraoui is understandable. Aaron Wan-Bissaka faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford amid his links with several clubs. The Bayern Munich full-back has thus emerged as a viable target for Manchester United, with the club hoping to sign him in a deal worth £18 million, £7 million less than the Bundesliga club’s asking price of £25 million.
However, Manchester United need to offload Wan-Bissaka before landing Mazraoui. Interestingly, the former Crystal Palace defender is a target for West Ham, although the Hammers have been in talks to sign Mazraoui from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.
Florian Plettenberg has claimed that the Moroccan international is West Ham’s top target, with Wan-Bissaka being the first alternative. However, it will be interesting to see if Manchester United and West Ham reach Bayern Munich’s asking price of £25 million.
