Crystal Palace agree four-year contract with Ismaila Sarr

Ismaila Sarr is a step closer to returning to the Premier League by joining Crystal Palace after agreeing to sign a four-year contract at the South London club this summer.

According to a report by The Athletic, Ismaila Sarr is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. The Eagles have been scouring the market for a wide attacker in the summer transfer window. They have taken a step closer to landing the Marseille winger, who has agreed to sign a four-year contract at Selhurst Park, although the two clubs are still far apart on their valuations of the 26-year-old.

The Ismaila Sarr story

Ismaila Sarr has made gradual progress since joining Marseille from Watford last summer. The Senegalese international has considerable experience in Ligue 1 from his previous spells with Stade Rennais. However, he rose in prominence during his spell with Watford, spending four years at Vicarage Road.

The 26-year-old has turned out 35 times thus far for Marseille while chipping in with five goals and six assists. However, Ismaila Sarr’s spell with Les Phoceens might end after only one season, with a return to England on the cards for the former Watford winger in the summer transfer window.

The African attacker has no shortage of suitors, with a few well-known Premier League clubs showing interest in him. However, Sarr’s next destination will likely be Crystal Palace, with the South London club pushing hard to secure his services in the summer transfer window.

London return on the cards?

Crystal Palace’s interest in Ismaila Sarr makes sense. The Eagles have been scouring the market for a wide attacker heading into the summer transfer window after losing Michael Olise, who has joined Bayern Munich this month. So, Sarr has emerged as a viable target for the South London outfit.

The Senegalese winger’s previous experience in the Premier League makes him an attractive option for Crystal Palace. The Eagles have stepped up their interest in Sarr, who has agreed to sign a four-year contract at Selhurst Park.

However, Crystal Palace and Marseille are still far apart on their valuations of the 26-year-old winger. While the report does not mention how much the Ligue 1 giants are demanding, it will be interesting to see if Crystal Palace can close the gap and land Sarr before the 2024/25 season kicks off.
