Barcelona are looking to table an offer worth around €40-50 million for the services of Manchester United target Dani Olmo.
Barcelona are looking to do everything in their power to ensure they bounce back next season. Despite all their financial difficulties, they are trying to give Hansi Flick a strong enough that can help him win titles at the Spanish club.
Their priority is to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Club. But according to a report from SPORT, Barcelona are also working on a €40-50 million deal to sign Spanish star Dani Olmo to further bolster their attack. The Catalan giants are looking to submit an offer for the RB Leipzig forward soon.
Olmo has established himself as a mainstay at the German club. While he did struggle with injuries, the 26-year-old finished with eight goals and five assists in his 25 matches. He was an important part of Luis de la Fuente’s Spain team that recently won UEFA Euro 2024.
The attacking midfielder was not in the preferred XI but managed to break into it and played a very important role in their success, with three goals and two assists in his six outings. Dani Olmo is currently on a well-earned holiday in Ibiza, but he does have a big decision to make regarding his future.
Olmo wants to leave, Manchester United also keen on signing him
While Dani Olmo still has three years left on his contract and the €60 million release clause is no longer valid, he is still unlikely to carry on at Leipzig. He seems to have informed the German club about his desires but they will only let him leave if their demands are met.
Manchester United are one of the clubs who have been linked with the Spanish international. The Red Devils seek more firepower in their attack, and they feel he is an ideal fit for Erik ten Hag’s team as he can provide cover for Bruno Fernandes and start on either flank when needed.
Barcelona preparing an offer for Dani Olmo
While Manchester United are interested in him, they will face stiff competition from Barcelona, who, despite all their financial struggles, are looking to bring Olmo to Spain. They first want to complete the signing of Nico Williams. But once that is locked in they could go all out for his compatriot who has been a consistent performer in the Bundesliga.
Both Deco and Flick are admirers of the 26-year-old and they are keen on adding him to their squad. While the €60 million clause has expired, Barcelona seem interested in making an offer of around €40-50 million as a fixed fee along with variables which will see the final figure rise to €60 million.
