Arsenal and Tottenham have held talks with Baris Alper Yilmaz’s camp over a move, with a host of clubs keeping close tabs on the striker.
According to Sabah, Baris Alper Yilmaz is receiving tremendous interest from the market, with some of the biggest clubs keeping close tabs. Arsenal and Tottenham have reportedly held talks with his agent, and Liverpool is also interested. However, Manchester United might not make a move.
Arsenal and Tottenham keen on Baris Alyer Yilmaz
Baris Alper Yilmaz confirmed his talent with some stellar performances for Turkey at the Euros and convinced them with doubts despite a magnificent season with Galatasaray. The 24-year-old striker does not pack in the goals or assists in numbers, but his overall centre-forward play is what any modern-day top football club demands.
Galatasaray are keen to keep him, but knowing the demand for a striker in this market, they may not stand in his way should he decide to leave. In fact, the report mentions that the Turkish champions will consider offers in the region of €30 million but are unwilling to accept anything less.
Tottenham, who are in need of a striker, have reportedly held talks with the 24-year-old’s agent, which has sparked rumours about a move. The same goes for Arsenal, who might still be in the market for a new centre-forward, although Yilmaz’s profile may not be something Mikel Arteta will want as he looks for a more mobile forward to add to his ranks.
Tottenham may have a keen interest in Yilmaz, as they need someone to hold the ball and bring others into play. Moreover, Yilmaz’s style of dropping deep more often is what Spurs have been missing since selling Harry Kane last summer. For the €30 million price point, the Galatasaray star is someone Ange Postecoglou should consider.
Yilmaz has many other suitors
Apart from the north Londoners, Liverpool are also in the mix, with Arne Slot thinking of adding a new striker with different attributes. The Reds certainly don’t have anyone with Yilmaz’s characteristics, and certainly not since the departure of Roberto Firmino, who is very similar to the 24-year-old Turkish star.
Manchester United showed some interest, although they have since brought in Joshua Zirkzee and are unlikely to make a move for Yilmaz. West Ham reportedly made an offer, while Borussia Dortmund, Brighton, and Aston Villa are the other sides keeping close tabs on the striker.
