Antony has been an unmitigated disaster for Manchester United since arriving from Ajax in a deal worth £80.9 million nearly two years ago. The Premier League club could have landed the 24-year-old for a lower fee earlier in the 2022 transfer window instead of waiting until the final days of August.
The Brazilian international signed a five-year contract with £70,000-a-week wages when he arrived at Old Trafford two years ago.
