According to a report from HITC, Manchester United want to complete the signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte before heading to the United States for their pre-season tour. They are already in talks with the French giants and are looking to bring him to Old Trafford as soon as possible.
After making a name for himself at Sporting CP, Ugarte made the move to PSG last summer in a deal worth £51 million. The South American midfielder had a decent debut season at the French club last term.
He was involved in 37 matches and even bagged three assists. While Manuel Ugarte was a regular feature in their starting XI in the initial phase of the 2023/24 season, he went down the pecking order in the second half.
The Uruguayan international did not start any of their Champions League knockout games and does not seem to be a part of their plans moving ahead despite having four years left on his current deal. PSG want to further strengthen their midfield by bringing in Joao Neves and want to part ways with Ugarte to fund the transfer of the Portuguese sensation.
