Fulham have struck a deal with Fluminense for the services of Brazilian midfield sensation Andre Trindade.
According to a report from Rudy Galetti, Fulham have agreed terms with Fluminense for the transfer of Andre Trindade. The Brazilian international who has had an incredible rise in recent seasons will be joining the Cottagers in a deal worth £25 million.
Andre has come up the ranks at the Brazilian club and has been a part of their first team since the summer of 2021. The defensive midfielder already has close to 200 appearances and has been one of their mainstays in recent seasons.
His exceptional performances have helped him break into the Brazil national team. While he did miss out on the Copa America squad, his rise hasn’t gone unnoticed. The 23-year-old has put himself on the wishlist of multiple clubs from across Europe.
Fulham closing in on Andre
While quite a few clubs were monitoring him, Fulham seem to have won the race for his services. The Cottagers have a long-standing interest in the midfield star. They wanted to sign him back in the day as well. Things might not have worked out back then but it seems they have finally stuck a deal for Andre.
Joao Palhinha’s move to Bayern Munich meant the Cottagers are in desperate need of bringing in a top-quality replacement. They have been watching the Brazilian midfielder closely for months and feel he could be a great long-term solution.
His defensive work rate could help cope with the Portuguese international’s absence. After long-drawn negotiations, Fulham have reached an agreement in principle with the Fluminense. The Cottagers have managed to beat the competition and have agreed to pay £25 million for the youngster with details like fixed parts and add-ons yet to be discussed.
The Premier League outfit were already in talks with the player’s representatives regarding personal terms. The player seems keen on making the move to England as it represents a major step in his career. He has reportedly agreed on a deal that will run until the summer of 2029. If this transfer goes through, it will make Andre the biggest sale in Fluminense history.
