West Ham United closing in on signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka

West Ham United are reportedly closing in on a move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and are open to paying Manchester United the £15 million they need.

According to TEAMtalk, there are positive signs over West Ham United’s pursuit of Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The Hammers are open to paying what’s needed to sign the Manchester United wide man, who has a £15 million price tag. The right-back does not have a future at Old Trafford and is already into the final year of his deal.

West Ham to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka?

West Ham United have been looking for a new right-back since Ben Johnson left as a free agent and joined Ipswich Town in a Bosman move. The versatile defender’s departure has made bringing in a new full-back a priority for the Hammers, who want to add competition and cover for Vladimir Coufal.

They have been drawn towards Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who could be made available by Manchester United should any club pay up the £15 million required for the wide man. The Red Devils have conceded that is the best price they can get for the defender, and the Hammers are open to paying that much.

Much will depend on Wan-Bissaka and his preference to join the Hammers, although a return to London will be seen as a positive sign for his career. The 26-year-old was a key member of Erik ten Hag’s squad last season. However, he featured mainly due to an injury crisis at Manchester United, as he would have naturally played as a backup to Diogo Dalot if everyone had kept fit.

As the report suggests, West Ham might be closing in on a move for Wan-Bissaka. However, they have yet to agree on a fee with Manchester United and personal terms with the player. But paying £15 million for a 26-year-old with ample Premier League experience should not be seen as a problem, especially given that the player can play both full-back positions.

West Ham have other right-back targets.

Kyle Walker-Peters is also a target for West Ham this summer, as he could leave Southampton this summer for a more significant challenge. Meanwhile, Hellas Verona’s Jackson Tchatchoua is on their list, and all these right-back options are seen as achievable by the Hammers.

However, in Wan-Bissaka, they get a player with immense Premier League experience who could suit the style of defender under Julen Lopetegui, especially for the low cost of £15 million he is available for this summer.
