Even before they could conjure up a bid for the striker, Marseille has revived their interest and is now set to sign Greenwood for a fee close to €30 million and a significant percentage in a sell-on clause.

Marseille have surprised a few with their decision to go ahead with the Greenwood deal despite the apparent unhappiness of many people associated with the club. Either way, they are heading in for a controversial decision with this deal, with Greenwood set to sign a five-year contract with the club.
Manchester United have been brilliant with their idea of including a hefty sell-on clause in the contract, as they might have anticipated another move for the forward. There are chances for Marseille to sell him in a short span if fans and other factors keep going against this particular signing in the immediate future.
