Liverpool, PSG bow out of race to sign Leny Yoro

Liverpool and PSG are no longer in the race for Leny Yoro, as the teenage defender will now choose between Real Madrid and Manchester United.

According to reputed German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Leny Yoro will now choose between Real Madrid and Manchester United, as other suitors like Liverpool and PSG have bowed out of the race. The 18-year-old has come in for high demand as he seeks an exit from LOSC Lille with a year left on his deal.

Liverpool, PSG out of Leny Yoro’s chase

A teenage defender who has shown maturity beyond his age and played a prominent role in Ligue 1 has caught the attention of some of the biggest clubs. Real Madrid, Manchester United, Liverpool and PSG have all shown significant interest in Leny Yoro, although the latter duo are now out of the running.

PSG might have wanted him in a big way, but the player prefers to leave Ligue 1, and that would have been the deal breaker for the French giants to pull out of the race altogether. While the Parisians are one of the leading destinations for top French stars, that is visibly not the case with Yoro, who has a different vision for his future.

While Florian Plettenberg claims Leny Yoro will soon decide between Manchester United and Real Madrid, the defender has already chosen the latter. The Spanish giants need to agree on a fee with LOSC Lille, as they are only willing to pay a nominal fee for the 18-year-old defender.

Liverpool may have seen this movement in the market and have already been linked with other defensive names. However, they might not want to pursue the defender this time, as the 18-year-old wants to join Real Madrid at all costs, although Manchester United are also considered part of the race.

Manchester United or Real Madrid for Yoro?

While Yoro prefers a move to Real Madrid, Manchester United have somewhat complicated the pursuit, having made a €50 million offer that Lille accepted. The one year on the teenager’s deal visibly gives him the power to decide his future, as he can easily leave as a free agent next summer.

Hence, Real Madrid are not overly worried about losing Yoro to Manchester United, as they are confident of agreeing on a deal similar to that of Eduardo Camavinga a few years ago. Yet, the Red Devils have no choice but to wait for things to transpire in the background and for Yoro to make his decision on his future.
