Bayern Munich open to Serge Gnabry sale amid Newcastle United links

Bayern Munich may not stand in the way of Serge Gnabry if he wants to move amid Newcastle Untied links this summer.

According to Bild, Bayern Munich might not oppose a possible sale of Serge Gnabry, with Newcastle United eager to make a bid for the German international. The winger has entered the final two years of his deal in Bavaria, with the Bundesliga club unlikely to stand in the way of the attacker this summer, although his €19 million-a-year wages can complicate matters.

Bayern Munich are willing to sell Serge Gnabry?

Premier League sides have seen increasing links to Serge Gnabry in the last couple of seasons. The player has preferred to stay put at Bayern Munich. With two years left on his current deal, the German attacker is still leaning towards continuing with the Bundesliga giants.

Gnabry did not have the best of seasons owing to injury troubles that restricted him to ten Bundesliga appearances. He remains a quality player, and at 29, he still has two years left on his deal. However, the €19 million-a-year salary could be why the Bavarian outfit might not oppose selling the German international.

Newcastle United are mulling over an approach, with Eddie Howe keen to strengthen his attacking setup. The report claims the Magpies are willing to fork out €46.5 million to sign Gnabry. Should they launch such an offer, Bayern Munich might prefer to take the money.

The Magpies want to sell Miguel Almiron and could look for a new right-winger in their ranks. In the Serge Gnabry chase, they might have to pay significantly to the attacker, considering his €19 million-a-year wages, to stand a chance of signing him, although any deal looks difficult at this stage due to the player’s stance.

Will Gnabry leave Bayern Munich?

Bayern have taken a new approach to freshen up their attacking setup and could move on from one of Serge Gnabry or Leroy Sane. The arrival of Michael Olise is a clear indication of that, with the Frenchman occupying the pair’s positions on the pitch. While Gnaby has no intention of leaving Bayern, he might consider newer surroundings.

Bayern Munich are also keen on another French winger, Desire Doue, and his arrival could even suddenly wrap up Sane’s time. Hence, Bayern’s experienced wingers are at a big risk of losing their place, as the club might look to maximise and consider good enough offers for the duo, especially the well-paid Gnabry.
