Newcastle United set to submit offer for Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

Newcastle United are keen on signing the player and a report from Football Insider claims that they are looking to submit an official offer for the 27-year-old.

Calvert-Lewin has not been at his best in the last two seasons and he could be tempted to move on and join a big club. This is a golden opportunity for the England international striker who has not been at his best for a while. Newcastle still rate him highly and they believe that he could be a key player for them.

According to a report from Football Insider,  Newcastle are determined to improve their attacking options this summer. The 27-year-old Everton striker could prove to be the ideal acquisition if he can regain his form and confidence. Calvert-Lewin has previously shown his quality in the Premier League and there is no doubt that he can be a reliable goal scorer for Newcastle.

They were overly dependent on Alexander Isak last season and Newcastle suffered in his absence. They need to bring in a quality striker this summer as well.

Calvert-Lewin will want to play for a big club

Meanwhile, the Everton striker will certainly be tempted to join an ambitious club like Newcastle and he will hope to push for major trophies with them in the coming seasons.

Apart from his ability to find the back of the net, the 27-year-old Everton is outstanding when it comes to his prowess in the air. Calvert-Lewin would add a new dimension to the Chelsea attack and defence during set pieces.

The Blues will be hoping to get back to their best once again. They have not been able to push for major trophies in recent seasons and Chelsea will want to return to the top of English football wants again.

Someone like Calvert-Lewin would certainly prove to be a handy option for them in the attack. It remains to be seen now the situation unfolds. He is well settled in English football, and he could make an instant impact at Stamford Bridge.
