Newly promoted Como are eyeing a Bosman move for former Manchester United star Anthony Martial ahead of next season.
Following their promotion to the Italian top flight, Como have showcased a lot of intent in the transfer market. They have already made some statement signings and are looking to complete a few more in the coming weeks. According to a report from The Mirror, the Serie A club are interested in signing free agent Anthony Martial.
Martial has parted ways with Manchester United after the expiry of his contract at the end of last month. He arrived at Old Trafford as a teenager back in 2015 and has ended his nine-year-long stay at the club which was full of ups and downs.
While he did win five trophies during his time at the club, the last few years were not that great for him as he struggled for minutes because of injuries and even went down the pecking order. With his contract at United now over, the 28-year-old is now free to decide his next club.
Como want to sign free agent Martial
Martial has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia, Turkey as well as his homeland France thanks to his free agent status. Multiple clubs are keen on signing him and Martial is still weighing up the offers he has.
Cesc Fabregas’ Como who got promoted to Serie A on the back of an incredible season last time out have registered their interest in the former United winger.
The Italian club have already signed Italian international Andrea Belotti and Marseille goalkeeper Pau Lopez on loan. They are working on quite a few top deals and former United centre-back Raphael Varane is also on their wishlist. They have already held face-to-face talks with the World Cup winner and are close to securing his services as per the reports.
If he does end up joining them as a free agent, it could help them with their pursuit of Martial. Having already registered their interest in the French forward, Como are hoping they could lure him to the club as they prepare to compete in the Italian top flight.
