Aston Villa, Chelsea ahead of Liverpool, Manchester United in Maximilian Beier chase

Aston Villa and Chelsea are reportedly ahead of Liverpool and Manchester United in the race to sign German whizkid Maximilian Beier from TSG Hoffenheim this summer.

According to a report by Sport Bild, as relayed by Sport Witness, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United are interested in signing Maximilian Beier from Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim in the summer transfer window. The Villans and the Blues are the front-runners to secure the services of the German whizkid.

The rapid rise of Maximilian Beier

Maximilian Beier has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the Bundesliga in the last 12 months. A native of Brandenburg an der Havel, the 21-year-old passed through the academies at ESV Kirchmöser, Brandenburger SC Süd, and FC Energie Cottbus before graduating from the youth division at TSG Hoffenheim.

The German whizkid made his first-team debut as a 17-year-old in February 2020 but had to wait until the 2023/24 season to establish a foothold in the first-team squad at TSG Hoffenheim. Beier was exceptional last term, contributing to 19 goals in 33 Bundesliga appearances by finding the back of the net 16 times while providing three assists. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has alerted high-profile clubs like Aston Villa, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United.

A man in demand

Aston Villa recently joined the race to secure Maximilian Beier’s services. The West Midlands club will likely part ways with Jhon Duran in the summer transfer window, thus necessitating the arrival of a new striker. So, Beier has emerged as a viable target for Aston Villa. As for Chelsea, they are keen on signing a productive striker this summer.

The Blues have already submitted an enquiry for Maximilian Beier. The latest update has revealed that Aston Villa and Chelsea are the front-runners to secure Beier’s services in the summer transfer window. However, Liverpool and Manchester United will hope to claw their way to the front of the chasing pack.

Liverpool and Manchester United have tracked Maximilian Beier’s progress for several months. The Merseyside club might part ways with Darwin Nunez this summer, while the Red Devils want to sign another striker despite closing in on signing Joshua Zirkzee.

With Aston Villa and Chelsea ahead of Liverpool and Manchester United, the onus is on those two clubs to ramp up their efforts to sign the German whizkid. It will be interesting to see where the 21-year-old TSG Hoffenheim prospect plies his trade next season.
