Arne Slot’s Liverpool have submitted an offer worth around €60 million for the services of Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer.
According to a report from The Standard via Fichajes, Liverpool are looking to reinforce their defence this summer and Juventus’ Gleison Bremer is their top target. The Reds have already submitted an offer of around €60 million as they look to win the race for his services.
Bremer made a name for himself at Torino before joining the Old Lady in a deal worth more than €45 million. He has been a mainstay at the back for the Italian giants over the last two seasons. The Brazilian international was involved in 40 matches during the 2023/24 season and he even scored three goals.
His ability to read the game and intercept passes and his aerial play has been very important for the Juventus backline. While he still has four years left on his deal, the Old Lady are considering cashing in on him. Given their financial situation his departure could given them the funds needed to reinforce other areas on the pitch.
Liverpool submit offer for Bremer
The Italian club are expected to make a final decision on his future in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, multiple are keen on signing him and are keeping a close eye on his situation at the Turin-based club. Liverpool are the ones who seem quite serious about their pursuit and they have already submitted a bid for the 27-year-old.
Arne Slot is all set to lead Liverpool in the 2024/25 season and is looking for ways to further bolster the squad at his disposal. He is keen on adding more quality and depth in the heart of the defence. The Dutch manager is keen on having a strong physical presence at the back alongside Virgil van Dijk.
The Reds consider Bremer to be their priority target for this window and have already submitted their initial offer worth around €60 million for the South American defender. It will be interesting to see how things develop as this deal could see Juventus make a significant profit and Liverpool sign one of the top defenders from the Serie A.
