AC Milan rival Liverpool in Adrien Rabiot chase

AC Milan are all set to rival Arne Slot’s Liverpool in their pursuit of the services of French international Adrien Rabiot.

According to a report from Calciomercato, AC Milan and Liverpool are both keen on acquiring the services of Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot. While the renewal offer from the Turin-based club is still valid, the French midfielder is officially a free agent and clubs are gearing up to battle it out for his services.

Rabiot arrived at Juventus in the summer of 2019 from Paris Saint-Germain. While he did struggle in the initial seasons, the 29-year-old eventually managed to establish himself as a mainstay at the club. He is currently busy doing his best for the French national team at the Euros but his future at the club is quite uncertain.

He did pen down a new one-year deal at the Italian club last time out, things are a bit different this around. His contract with Juventus has already run out, he is officially a free agent and there is a lot of interest from across Europe.

Despite his contract running out, the renewal offer worth €7 million for two years plus the option of another 12 months is still on the table. Juventus are hoping that he will once again put pen to paper and extend his stay at the club with Thiago Motta keen on having the Frenchman at his disposal.

While the player will make a final decision on his future at the end of Euro 2024, clubs are gearing up to make a move in case he wants to try a new experience. Liverpool are one of the clubs interested in the 29-year-old.

Liverpool and AC Milan to battle for Rabiot

With Thiago Alcântara leaving the club, the Reds are looking to bring in an experienced campaigner and feel Rabiot will be an ideal fit. With him potentially available for free, Arne Slot’s team do not want to miss out on his signature.

The Premier League outfit have the financial strength to lure him to the club but they will face intense competition from AC Milan. The Rossoneri club are aware that he could choose to continue with Juventus but they are still willing to make a concrete attempt to bring him to the club.

Their technical director Geoffrey Moncada is the one pushing hard to bring him to Milan. They have already made several contacts with the player’s entourage to understand the feasibility of a potential move. With the Growth Decree in their support, they are ready to guarantee him a three-year contract worth  €7 million.
