Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing 25-year-old Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze in the summer transfer window.
According to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Aston Villa have now submitted an enquiry for Eberechi Eze, and it will be interesting to see if they can win the race for his signature. The Englishman has been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool as well.
Eze is valued at £60 million, and Tottenham might struggle to pay his asking price. They need to improve their attacking unit, and the England international would be a superb acquisition. But Crystal Palace will have to lower their demands for the move to go through. Tottenham will have to improve the other areas of their squad as well, and they cannot afford to pay £60 million for the Crystal Palace attacker.
Eze could be tempted to join a big club
Eze has proven himself in the Premier League with the Eagles, and he will look to compete at a higher level now. He will want to join a club capable of pushing for major trophies. Tottenham have an exciting squad and an ambitious project. They could be an attractive destination for him.
On the other hand, Arsenal have been pushing for the league title for the last two season, and they will be attractive option for the player as well. The Gunners need more depth in the wide areas so that Mikel Arteta can rotate his attacking unit more often. It will be interesting to see if they follow up on their interest with an official proposal for the attacker.
As for Liverpool, they need more depth in the wide areas as well. Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz are the only natural wingers at the club. Although Eze is not a natural wide player, he can operate on both flanks. The 25-year-old mostly operates as the central attacking midfielder for Crystal Palace.
He will help create goalscoring opportunities in the final third and open up deep defences with his passing, vision and link up play. He would be a quality acquisition for all three English clubs, and it remains to be seen where he ends up .
