Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United are reportedly ready to cough up €60 million to sign Ademola Lookman from Serie A club Atalanta.
According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United are interested in signing Ademola Lookman from Atalanta in the summer transfer window. The Serie A club will demand around €60 million to part ways with the Nigerian international, with the three Premier League clubs ready to meet La Dea’s valuation.
Ademola Lookman revitalising his career in Serie A
Ademola Lookman has resurrected his stuttering career since joining Atalanta from RB Leipzig in August 2022. The 26-year-old could not establish himself as a dependable performer in the Premier League during his spell with Everton. The move to RB Leipzig was not successful, either.
However, the Nigerian international has gone from strength to strength in the last two years. Lookman was exceptional in the 2023/24 season, contributing to 27 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions, finding the back of the net 17 times while providing ten assists. Meanwhile, the player’s progress has alerted several top clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United.
A man in demand
Chelsea will aim to sign a wide attacker in the summer transfer window due to the inconsistent performances of Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk. The Blues wanted to sign Michael Olise but have lost the race to Bayern Munich. Lookman has thus emerged as a viable target for Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s interest in Ademola Lookman is understandable. The Reds are in a spot of bother over the futures of Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz. While Lookman is an expensive target for Liverpool due to his price tag of €60 million, he can be worth the investment.
As for Manchester United, the Red Devils are eager to find the long-sought solution to the right-wing woes in the summer transfer window. Like Chelsea, they were keen on signing Michael Olise. However, with a deal not materialising, Lookman is a viable target for Manchester United.
