Juventus offer Enzo Barrenechea to Aston Villa in a deal for Douglas Luiz

Juventus have offered Aston Villa the opportunity to sign Enzo Barrenechea in a deal that will see Douglas Luiz move the other way.

According to a report from HITC, Juventus have made progress in their pursuit of the services of Douglas Luiz. They are keen on signing the Brazilian midfielder star and have offered Aston Villa the opportunity to acquire the services of Enzo Barrenechea in return.

The Old Lady are looking to add more quality and depth to their squad ahead of next season. Thiago Motta who recently took charge of the club wants to strengthen his midfield and they are pushing hard to sign Villa’s mainstay Douglas Luiz.

The original offer from Juventus

Juventus have been in talks with Unai Emery’s team for a while now. While negotiations have been progressing well, the Old Lady are keen on including players in a potential deal.

The Italian outfit were looking to include midfielder Weston McKennie in a potential deal alongside Samuel Iling-Junior. As per the reports, the original offer was McKennie and Iling-Junior plus £16 million.

But, that offer hasn’t worked out because the American international’s personal terms were an issue. He could not agree on terms to terminate his contract with Juventus. As a result, the Turin-based club have now decided to make a change.

Villa’s footballing chief Monchi has asked for the services of Enzo Barrenechea. The 23-year-old defensive midfielder was on loan at Frosinone last season. He had an impressive campaign and people at the English club feel he has the potential to succeed in the Premier League.

Juventus final offer for Douglas Luiz

The Italian giants have agreed to Villa’s suggestion and have made Barrenechea a part of the deal to sign Douglas Luiz. Motta is desperate to have the Brazilian in his squad and he is willing to let go of the Argentine midfielder.

The deal for Luiz is now expected to move forward. The player has already agreed personal terms regarding a move to Turin. If things go according to plan, the Brazilian midfielder should be a Juventus player next season.

With McKennie no longer a part of the deal, Villa will receive a touch higher fee for their midfielder mainstay. The English club will acquire the services of Iling-Junior and Barrenchea along with £21 million from Juventus.
