Everton closing in on sealing another loan deal for Jack Harrison

Everton will soon complete another loan move to sign 27-year-old Englishman Jack Harrison from Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Jack Harrison will return to Everton in the summer transfer window. The Toffees have been eager to re-sign the 27-year-old from Leeds United ahead of the 2024/25 season. The two clubs now have an agreement over another season-long loan deal.

Jack Harrison and his career so far

Jack Harrison has endured a topsy-turvy ride throughout his professional career thus far. Born in Stoke-on-Trent, the Englishman spent most of his formative years in his homeland, passing through the fabled academies at Manchester United and Liverpool. However, he ended his youth career in the USA.

The 27-year-old arrived in the USA by joining Black Rock FC but also represented Manhattan SC, Wake Forest University, Chicago Fire, and New York City FC before returning to England by joining Manchester City. However, Harrison could not establish a foothold in the first-team squad at Manchester City, instead embarking on loan spells at Middlesbrough and Leeds United.

Leeds United completed a permanent move in July 2021, and the English attacker was a regular for the Whites during their stint in the Premier League. However, Harrison returned to the top flight immediately after Leeds United’s relegation to the EFL Championship, with Everton completing a season-long loan deal.

The Everton adventure

Jack Harrison was a regular for Everton in the 2023/24 season, amassing over 2,500 minutes of game time across 36 appearances for the first team while chipping in with four goals and three assists. Harrison’s performances for Everton compelled the Merseyside club to seek another move heading into the summer transfer window.

Recent reports have claimed Harrison has been keen on remaining at Everton beyond the summer transfer window. That will be a reality, with talks between Everton and Leeds United progressing well. The latest update has revealed that the two clubs have an agreement over a deal for the 27-year-old Englishman.

Harrison will return to Everton on another season-long loan deal, with Leeds hoping next summer brings a permanent transfer. It will be interesting to see if the English attacker can continue his solid form at Goodison Park next season.
