Manchester United are reportedly one of several clubs keen on signing 24-year-old French centre-back Oumar Solet from Red Bull Salzburg in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by French outlet RMC Sport, Oumar Solet is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are scouring the market for a centre-back heading into the summer transfer window. And they have set their sights on the 24-year-old Red Bull Salzburg defender, who will cost around €12-15 million.
Who is Oumar Solet?
Oumar Solet has gone from strength to strength since joining Red Bull Salzburg from Lyon in July 2020. A native of Melun, the Frenchman spent his formative years in his homeland, passing through the academies at FC Dammarie-les-Lys, US Creteil, and US Villejuif before graduating from the youth division at Stade Laval.
However, the 24-year-old rose in prominence during his spell with Lyon before seeing his stock soar further during his spell with Red Bull Salzburg. Solet has turned out over 100 times thus far for the Austrian giants, chipping in with four goals and five assists.
Meanwhile, Solet’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. The report mentions Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, VfB Stuttgart, and a Serie A outfit. However, the Red Bull Salzburg defender’s next destination might be Manchester United, with the Austrian giants demanding €12-15 million to sell him.
