Manchester United in regular contact with Joshua Zirkzee, handed boost

Manchester United are in touch about Joshua Zirkzee, as they are now keen on the Bologna striker also linked with Arsenal.

According to Give Me Sport, Manchester United are one of the clubs in constant touch with the agent of Joshua Zirkzee, as there is a chance they can land the striker. Bologna are all but resigned to losing the Dutch forward after an impressive season, with Arsenal among those linked with a move. The youngster will cost around £33 million this summer.

Manchester United receive Joshua Zirkzee boost

Manchester United are in the market for a new striker to complement Rasmus Hojlund next season and generally improve their attacking setup. There have been plenty of names linked with a move to Old Trafford. But Joshua Zirkzee appears to suit what they want from a new centre-forward, with the Dutchman available in the market.

After an impressive season helping Bologna qualify for the UEFA Champions League, the Serie A club are all but resigned to losing the striker in the summer. He was heavily linked with a move to Milan, but in recent days, talks have reportedly broken down as well, and the striker has urged to wait for Premier League clubs to make their move.

Manchester United have been in constant touch with his agent, Kia Joorabchian, who remains keen for Zirkzee to join a Premier League side. There were rumblings about how he could also follow Thiago Motta into the Juventus setup. But those links seem weak and probably out of order.

The big issue with the AC Milan move was that Joorabchian was demanding additional fees in add-ons of around £12 million on top of Zirkzee’s £33 million release clause. While Milan are not keen, it does give Manchester United a boost in their pursuit of the Dutchman.

Arsenal in Zirkzee chase?

Arsenal are also considered a strong suitor for Zirkzee, as they may have switched their attention toward the Dutchman after losing out on Benjamin Sesko. The £33 million-rated attacker will fit into the idea that Mikel Arteta wants with a new striker as the Spaniard looks to mix and match next season.

Manchester United and Arsenal could prove to be ideal competitors for the forward’s decision, although the Gunners might have the upper hand with Champions League football next season.
