AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori reportedly does not want to join Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Football Insider, Fikayo Tomori is the subject of interest from Newcastle United. The Magpies are in the market for another centre-back despite signing Lloyd Kelly in a Bosman move. However, despite approaching the 26-year-old AC Milan defender’s entourage, a move will unlikely see the light of day as he does not want to join the Tyneside outfit.
Fikayo Tomori and his renaissance at AC Milan
Fikayo Tomori has established himself as one of the best defenders in Serie A since joining AC Milan from Chelsea in 2021. The Englishman initially moved to San Siro on loan for the second half of the 2020/21 season before completing a permanent move in the subsequent summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old has been a mainstay at the back for AC Milan in the last three and a half years and was instrumental in delivering the Serie A title in the 2021/22 season. Tomori has turned out nearly 150 times thus far for the Rossoneri, chipping in with seven goals and one assist.
Meanwhile, Fikayo Tomori’s progress at AC Milan has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. A return to the Premier League might be on the cards, with Newcastle United keen on securing his services in the summer transfer window.
