Juventus poised to cool interest in Mason Greenwood

Juventus are cooling their interest in Mason Greenwood owing to complexities, and could have switched their attention towards Jadon Sancho.

According to Corriere Torino via Sport Witness, Juventus could call off their pursuit of Mason Greenwood owing to problems at multiple levels. Instead, they could switch their attention firmly towards another Manchester United star, Jadon Sancho.

Juventus walk away from Mason Greenwood’s pursuit

Mason Greenwood remains a source of concern for Manchester United, which will not sell him on the cheap after a big comeback season away at Getafe. The controversial forward will return to Old Trafford, as he is certain to depart the club for good, as he has attracted plenty of interest in the market.

There were reports that Juventus had a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with Greenwood ahead of the summer. But fan sentiment is something they might not have considered at that stage. The Bianconeri supporters do not want the club to sign him, and Manchester United’s insistence on getting €50 million for him has caused the Turin giants to cool their interest.

The fact that Juventus and other clubs feel Manchester United’s demands are excessive seems to be a big problem when signing Greenwood. The €50 million-rated Manchester United forward does have interest from Spain, with Valencia keen to sign him this summer. However, they, too, are reportedly offering far less than his €50 million valuation set by the Red Devils.

As for Juventus, they are keen on bringing in a wide forward this summer, as Thiago Motta lays his rule on the squad and how they play. There are rumours they might sell Federico Chiesa, and they wanted the likes of Greenwood to replace the Italian international, although they already have an alternative target in mind.

Juventus keen on Jadon Sancho

Moving away from the Greenwood pursuit, Juventus have switched their attention towards another unwanted Manchester United forward in Jadon Sancho. The Bianconeri were considered front-runners for the winger, who does want a return to Borussia Dortmund. However, the Germans are not in a position to pay the €50 million the Red Devils want to sell him.

The €50 million price tag on Sancho is also a problem for Juventus, who are not keen to pay as much for the unwanted forward. However, in Sancho’s case, Manchester United may have the upper hand, as they might have caved in the case of Greenwood, who no longer features on Juventus’s list of targets.
