West Ham United have added Etienne Youte Kinkoue to their list of defensive targets as the Le Havre man could be made available.
According to L’Equipe, Le Havre defender Etienne Youte Kinkoue has emerged on West Ham’s radar ahead of the summer as the Londoners continue their search for a viable centre-back. The 22-year-old defender will enter the final year of his deal with the Ligue 1 club and could be made available for sale.
West Ham chasing Etienne Youte Kinkoue
West Ham have set about with their objective of bringing in a new defender in this market, and have now added Etienne Youte Kinkoue to their list of growing names. The 22-year-old defender has had an impressive season with Le Havre, featuring for 24 games in all competitions, and has a big chance to switch to a bigger side in the summer.
Kinkoue will enter the final year of his deal, and Le Havre may have no choice but to cash in now rather than let him leave for free. West Ham is not the only club keen, with Nottingham Forest also reportedly interested in a deal for the defender. The Hammers were interested back in January but could not complete a deal for the 22-year-old Ligue 1 defender.
However, now, they might have a big chance to bring their old target to the London Stadium and may only have to pay a premium fee in January. Could he be a good option for them to help them progress as a club and into the top six of the Premier League?
West Ham’s defensive targets
West Ham United failed with a move for Fabricio Bruno recently, as the Brazilian defender pulled the plug on the deal despite the Hammers agreeing on a fee with Flamengo. They also have Udinese defender Neheuen Perez on their list, and he is yet another star that could be achievable.
Fenerbahce’s Jayden Oosterwolde is also a late target, meaning the Hammers are actively searching for a new centre-back. However, they might have a specific price range that they want to play around with for this new centre-back.
