Newcastle United, Crystal Palace eyeing Noni Madueke swoop

Crystal Palace and Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Noni Madueke from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Noni Madueke might become surplus to requirements at Chelsea heading into the summer transfer window. The West London club might cash in on him if a club can present an attractive offer. However, the 22-year-old has no shortage of suitors, with Crystal Palace and Newcastle United keen on securing his services.

Noni Madueke and his Chelsea travails

Noni Madueke has struggled to establish a foothold in the first-team squad since joining Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023. The Englishman has been a victim of the West London outfit’s policy to hoard talent since the Todd Boehly-led consortium took over the club over two years ago.

The 22-year-old was a highly-rated prospect during his stint with PSV Eindhoven, compelling many clubs to seek his signature. However, Madueke managed only 1,598 minutes of game time across 32 appearances in all competitions. The youngster still managed a decent tally of eight goals and six assists.

However, Noni Madueke’s long-term future at Chelsea is uncertain heading into the summer transfer window. The managerial change has added to the precariousness of his situation. But the English attacker does not have a shortage of suitors, with Crystal Palace and Newcastle United vying for his signature.

What next for Madueke?

Crystal Palace’s interest in Noni Madueke is understandable. The Eagles are in a spot of bother over Michael Olise’s long-term future. Interestingly, the 22-year-old is a target for Chelsea and Newcastle United. However, Olise’s departure from Selhurst Park will force Crystal Palace into the market, with Madueke emerging as a viable target.

As for Newcastle United, they might be in a losing battle to sign Olise, with Chelsea better placed to secure his services in the summer transfer window. Madueke has thus emerged as an option worth considering for the Tyneside outfit.

Leaving Chelsea is the ideal decision for Madueke, considering Olise might arrive at Stamford Bridge. It will be interesting to see if he joins Crystal Palace or Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.
