Juventus have an agreement in place with Mason Greenwood but Manchester United’s asking price stands in their way.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via SportWitness, Juventus are keen on acquiring the services of Mason Greenwood as they look to reinforce their attack ahead of next season. The Old Lady have taken a major step towards signing him as they have an agreement in place with the player’s entourage but negotiations with Manchester United could be complicated.
Greenwood made a return to football with a loan move to Getafe last summer. Despite being out of action for a long while, the 22-year-old forward has made an impressive return. In his 36 appearances across competitions, the English winger scored 10 goals and even bagged six assists.
With the loan move expiring, he is all set to return to Manchester United but Greenwood is unlikely to have a future at Old Trafford. While Sir Jim Ratcliffe did hint towards reinstating him in the team, with his contract expiring in the summer of 2025, they are ready to cash in on their academy graduate.
Multiple top clubs have been linked with the United forward in recent months. While interest from quite a few clubs has faded away, Juventus are the ones that seem to be serious about their pursuit. The Old Lady are looking to add more firepower to their squad and they feel the right-winger could be a great signing for them.

He will add a lot of quality to the final third and his ability to feature anywhere in attack could be a huge boost. Juventus have already made moves to bring him to Turin. They have had a discussion with the player’s entourage and already have a gentleman’s agreement with them.
While no specific details have been agreed upon yet, it is likely to be a simple approval from the player’s end about joining the Italian giants and a rough idea of the wages he would get. Things are quite clear from the player’s end but Juventus still have to negotiate with Manchester United.
The Old Lady have a major hurdle in front of them as the Red Devils are looking for a fee close to €40 to €50 million for the 22-year-old. They consider the asking price to be a touch on the higher side. Given the kind of financial situation Juventus are in, they need to first sanction a few departures before they can stand a chance to go after Greenwood’s signature.
