Arsenal want £30 million-plus to sell Aaron Ramsdale

Aaron Ramsdale will cost around £30 million in the current market, with Arsenal not willing to reduce their asking price.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal are willing to sell Aaron Ramsdale only for their £30 million asking price. The Gunners second choice stopper is in a disgruntled mood ahead after a season sitting on the bench, although Mikel Arteta will not sanction a sale unless the club’s asking price is met.

Arsenal will demand £30 million to sell Aaron Ramsdale.

Aaron Ramsdale is being considered one of the big transfer stories of this summer, with the England international in a disgruntled mood after a lack of game time last season. David Raya’a’s arrival last summer made the Spaniard the starting goalkeeper under Mikel Arteta, which reduced Ramsdale to a bench role.

While speculation pointed that Arteta might regularly rotate his goalkeeper, that wasn’t the case during the season. In fact, Ramsdale was only used when there was a necessity, like the two games against Brentford for which Raya was ineligible, which has seen the England international craving to become the No.1 either at Arsenal or elsewhere.

Newcastle United considered Arsenal’s asking price expensive, and now it’s clear that the Gunners want around £30 million to sell him. The Magpies have since moved on towards James Trafford, which shows they are not willing to shell out what the Gunners want for their 25-year-old keeper.

This is approximately the same price Arsenal paid to sign him from Sheffield United three summers ago, but now they might consider selling him for the right price. Many clubs are seeking his signature, but with the price tag and PSR in mind, many might back away from this particular pursuit.

Arteta unfazed by Ramsdale’s desire

Arteta might be internally aware of Ramsdale’s desire to do so and move on and play for a side where he is the regular starter between the sticks. However, Arsenal are in the market for a homegrown keeper, although that is for a third-choice stopper rather than. A replacement for the 25-year-old England international.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are open to selling a few of their homegrown stars, meaning that if they execute their plan to success, then they might need more English-based players. Hence, Arteta is not keen to sell Ramsdale as a priority as he likes having two top-class goalkeepers in the ranks, although he will concede should an offer worth the club’s asking price arrive.
