Liverpool keen on Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh

Liverpool are reportedly interested in Yankuba Minteh, with Arne Slot ready to bring the on-loan Feyenoord winger from Newcastle United.

According to The Telegraph, Arne Slot is keen on a reunion with Yankuba Minteh, as Liverpool could enquire about the Newcastle United winger. The attacker played the previous season on loan at Feyenoord, with the Magpies reportedly set to ask for £40 million for the exciting talent.

Liverpool interested in Yankuba Minteh

Liverpool are in the market for a right winger, as they are already making plans for the future of that position. Irrespective of whether Mohamed Salah departs, the Merseysiders will look to bring a new, younger option to help him get acquainted with their style.

Arne Slot had considered Johan Bakayoko from PSV Eindhoven. Still, now he may have shifted his attention towards his former side Feyenoord for winger Yankuba Minteh, who was excellent last season under the new Liverpool boss on the right side of the attack.

Minteh has attracted the interest of clubs like Barcelona, but Newcastle United are likely to price the Catalans out of a move for the winger. Meanwhile, Liverpool could throw in an inquiry for the £40 million-rated Newcastle wonderkid, as this is the price the Magpies are reportedly keen to demand in the market.

Liverpool might look to negotiate the price down, although the teenage winger has staked his claim as an exciting talent with his performances in the Eredivisie. Whether the Merseysiders are successful in their pursuit remains the question, as there might be some chance the Magpies might sell.

Newcastle to forcibly sell Minteh?

Newcastle United had planned on reintegrating Minteh into the first-team setup, as Howe was hoping to take a closer look at the winger during pre-season. However, they are one of the few clubs in the Premier League that may have to sell to raise funds to be in line with PSR regulations.

Should they get the desired price for the £40 million-rated winger, it will help them immensely in the market to sign new players. While suitors will be reluctant to match that asking price, there’s a chance the Magpies will make a hands-on profit on their 6.5 investment in Minteh.
